Welcome To Thailand

Knowledge is key

Sharing a common ground with Scotland and Togo, Thailand is known for their smiling, relaxed and vibrant culture.πŸ˜„πŸ˜„

My knowledge of Thailand until recently, was only about how spicy their foods are πŸ”₯πŸ”₯(which I can handle so no stress😈), the beautiful temples, islands, night life, and exotic weather.

But to make sure we obtain a polite passport we need to be educated individuals.

Fun fact: πŸ’There is a partnership of free exchange of ideas, technology and culture that dates back over 400 years ago, between Britain and Thailand. Not only does British companies such as Boots, Tesco and Unilever have great success in Thailand but over 50,000 British citizens have chosen to make Thailand their permanent home.🏠

Did somebody say study abroad?

But! you may be wondering why specifically Thailand out of all the countries I can choose.πŸ‘€

The simple answer to that is, I seem to be drawn to countries who best suits my personality and so far, Scotland, Togo and Thailand are the best mixture to my personality.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‡πŸ’“

I first discovered the Thai series industry at the age of 15, and believe me when I say I’ve been sold since then!! It has opened my curiosity to know more about the Thai culture. Therefore when the opportunity came for me to study abroad in 2025, of course I am wasting no time πŸ’¨but to shoot straight at Thailand.

My delusion since the age of 15 is no longer a delusion,πŸ’€πŸ’€πŸ˜‚ only two months till my departure to Thailand!!!!

Of course, before I go and before y’all go as well, I will make sure to educated you on the most important etiquette, so we remain mindful and obtain our polite passport.

WaiπŸŒ„πŸŒ„

Just like the two previous countries, Thai citizens value politeness and manners.πŸ™ Such etiquette derives from Thailand's main religion being Buddhism,πŸ›• in believing of peace, respect and humility. Such religion, influences the way in which individuals are treated or treat each other and also due to the nature of Thai people, they are warm, polite and kind and would appreciate it to be reciprocated if planning to be part their community.πŸ‘

One of the ways which such etiquette is shown is through Wai. Wai is a greeting that reflects the countries value of respect, humility and spiritualism. Wai is specified by the heights of the hands πŸ™and the depth of the bow.πŸ™‡ The specification of Wai is based on status and age of the individual. As your bow will be deeper if the individual paying respect to is your senior or of a higher authority than you.

In order to fit right in like a local on your visit to Thailand 🌴🌞remember to be polite and respectful in the way you greet people around you and showing the same respect given to you will be appreciated by Thai citizens.

Kop Kun Kha (Thank you!!)πŸ™πŸ™
