Welcome To Togo

“Who is Adebayor? did you just ask?”💢 "well google it."

Togo is an exotic holiday destination full of traditions, cultures, history and plenty of flavourful dishes. My favourite Togolese dish is Akume (Banku) with Ademe (vegetable stew) 🍲😋.The national languages of Togo is Ewe and Kabiye, but if in attendance of School you are taught in French due to history of colonisation👀. If you are  interested in picking up a few sentences or words In Ewe just comment below or if you are in Strathclyde do approach me, I will be more than happy to teach you a few words.💕 Although Togo is small country, Thanks to the Scottish invention of football 💝it meant even if people do not know about Togo, as soon as you mention Adebayor (our countries treasure🌟) most football fans know.⚽

Homeland

In West Africa, located on the gold coast is Togo. Considering the horrific history of most countries in Africa including Togo during the times of slavery and colonisation , such citizens remain hopeful and full of joy and warm to anyone coming into their culture." Thank God my ancestors ran fast enough👀👀😈" meaning I am still able to be in direct contact and learn about the history of Togo till today, which is so beautiful.

From what I remember of my childhood in Togo, just like the Scots, Togolese individuals/collective are very welcoming and the most joyful Africans you will ever meet. " take me as an example." 😁😅 As I still live at home with family and as well as a first generation immigrant, I am no stranger to Togolese etiquettes, some of which is practiced  in my household.🏠

 Miss Anani or Tania

Contrary to most western countries,  in Togo honorific holds a very important💯 significance, deriving from post colonisation🙌 it allows the identification of your tribe, who and where you belong too is very important. Family and bloodline is of a high value to Togolese citizens👪. It is a person to person case on how they prefer to be addressed across the country, in  most cases Togolese individuals will rather be addressed as Mrs/Miss/Mr Followed by your surname, as it is important linking your tribe and family descent. No matter where school, hospital, office, workplace your surname is what you are addressed as. It is also seen as sign of respect to call people, those in high authority or your seniors by their honorifics followed their surname, rarely ever you will be addressed by your first name. Therefore, if you still want that polite passport, when on your trip to Togo unless been given the permission, always address people by surname as it is ones Identity, tracing back to their roots.

"So next time you see me, yes it is Miss Anani, Thanks very much😂😇."

Leave a comment and share your thoughts on such etiquette, do you want to be address by your surname or not?💭💖
